Hey there. So today I found a nice post that is quite relevant to one of my past times: reading books. Thanks to Attempting Reality, from which I got the idea for this post from (:
AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:
J.K Rowling, the Harry Potter series. I have read all seven books, but I have read them all multiple times.
BEST SEQUEL EVER:
This is really difficult, but I’ll have to say right now it is Frostbite by Richelle Mead, author of the Vampire Academy series (an amazingly great series). I am still yet to read however, Insurgent, which, if based on the first novel, Divergent, will be fantastic.
The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes. A novel set in France, World War I. I haven’t gotten into it as much as I would have liked to so far, but I haven’t read much of it as of yet.
DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:
Water, but I really only drink water. Oh unless I decide I’d like some tea, then it’d be tea.
E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK?
Depends on the book for me. My Harry Potter novels I have to read the actual book. If I have purchased the physical book, I’ll read the book. Right now I am using my new Kobo, which I love.
FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
Damn, this is hard. It’s like a tie between, Ronald Weasley (Harry Potter series), Jacob Black (Twilight Saga) and Augustus Waters (The Fault in Our Stars). Ronald because he is an adorable character. Jacob because he is hot.Get it? No because he is such a supportive and protective guy, that I would have no troubles loving. Augustus because from the first moment I read about him, I knew, from the bottom of my heart that it was love.
I have a soft spot for the best friend types, as you could probably tell.
GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:
Divergent. It was three dollars at a book store I went into and my step mother insisted on buying me something, I didn’t care what I got, and that is what I chose.
HIDDEN GEM BOOK:
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. I love this book so much. It taught me so many lessons and I treasure its meaning, its morals, how it is written, the characters and the piece of marvellous writing it undoubtedly is. I am meaning to read it again but I have so much more I want to read.
IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE:
When I finished the Harry Potter series I felt lost. What would I do without that magic in my life. That piece of my childhood that I haven’t been without. I was born in 1997, so was this phenomenal concept.
Before I Die by Jenny Downham. It was a little odd however, I did cry at the end. The movie was much sweeter, but the book gave me more insight and meaning.
KINDS OF BOOKS YOU (GENERALLY) WON’T READ:
I have usually steered towards the fantasy side of things but I have started to move away from them and to the romance side of things. I don’t like fantasy as much any more as most of it is an idea that’s been copied and could in no way measure to the standard of Harry Potter and Vampire Academy. The lack of actual romance in my life, is a void that needs to be filled and why not by lovely romance novels.
LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:
The Fault in Our Stars. I read this six months ago and I still want Augustus back. I cry when I think about it. Damn, the tears.
NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:
Technically two. Only one has books on it. 76 to be exact however, my Kobo has about 40 books.
ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:
Obviously Harry Potter. Yes, I am repetitive. Only with Harry Potter though. I don’t read books twice.
PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:
On my bed or my couch.
QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU’VE READ:
“Always” -Severus Snape.
Not a book, but I ALWAYS turn the the back of the book and read the last page. And I hate it but I cannot help it.
SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):
There are so many. But they are all fantasy and copy vampires. One that I’d like to finish is the Paranormalcy series by Kiersten White. It’s a mix between all fantasy creatures so its not terrible.
THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Divergent by Veronica Roth aaaand, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Ninteen Years Later gets me every time.
UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:
Anything written by John Green or Sarah Dessen.
VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS:
The next John Green book, and an eighth Harry Potter book.
WORST BOOKISH HABIT:
Reading the last page, and not reading a book consistently, sometimes its weeks apart before I continue reading.
X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes and P.S I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE):
I don’t know. I have a really strict bedtime, that I set otherwise I get cranky, but it was probably The Fault in Our Stars because I cried for a long time.
-If you are a reading fan I suggest you do this because it really is a fun way to reflect on your reading. It’s so nerdy-ish to say, but I really enjoyed this. (:
