I am having a really tough time lately with a lot of things.

Since graduating high school, all my friends have either moved away, stopped talking to me or are going to stop talking to me.

My best friend is leaving at the end of this month. I don’t want to think about it because I’ll get really upset. I have no one else in my town when she is gone and I don’t think I can handle that. She has always been the one to have more friends, have love, people that like her. I was always the one that sat on the sideline and just smiled when prompted. How am I supposed to make friends when she was always the one that introduced me to people. I am too introverted. It’s bloody terrible. When she leaves (she’s joining the Navy) I’ll have no one to talk to and I have a lot of issues that I need to talk about. I also don’t like going to the movies all of the time.

My two other closest friends are leaving during this year as well. I don’t think I can handle it. I can’t be alone anymore.

Uni is terribly stressful as well. The assignments that I have at the moment are overwhelming and confusing. I have decided to change courses as well and that is also confusing as hell.

I am also single as a single celled plankton. Which sucks.

I don’t know exactly why I’ve written this. I just needed to get what I had inside out.

The Versatile Blogger Award

A few weeks ago Lizzy from My Little Book Blog nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. First of all I’d like to say thank you, I love your reviews and blog.
Second, I’d like to brief you all on the rules:
1. Nominate 15 other relatively new(ish) bloggers
2. Let them know that you have nominated them
3. Post ten random facts about yourself
4. Be sure to thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and link back to their blog
5. Add the Versatile Blogger Award image the the post
So, I don’t really have fifteen people/blogs to nominate so I’d like to nominate these few bloggers:
and I nominate everyone reading this that wants to do this award! Let me know if you do this, I’d love to read yours!
Now, it is my turn to rattle off ten facts about myself:
1. My favourite television show is Downton Abbey , don’t know what it is about the time but I just happen to love it.
2. I have six brothers and sisters
3. My favourite book is The Great Gatsby. I think that the writing is fluid and descriptive and beautiful. It was the first book that I had to read for school and loved.
4. I dress like a 12 yr old. (that’s what I think anyways) my sense of style is casual comfortable which means I only wear shorts t-shirts and hoodies.
5. I change my favourite kind of chocolate bars every other week. It tends to coincide with what is on sale at work 🙂
6. I believe that things happen for a reason. Some things are bad (trust me I know) but there would be some sort of reason for it. The bad things make you stronger, the good things make you happier.
7. My favourite animals are whales and giraffes.
8. my favourite singer is Tom Odell. Check him out.
9. I am about to buy a read Holden Barina Spark!!!
10. I appreciate dry humour and dad jokes. I find a lot of humour in TV shows hilarious but male ‘sexual’ humour is not my favourite. I find it uncomfortable.
So that was my Versatile Blogger Award, let me know if you do this! It’d be fabulous.

A Letter to My Future Husband

A Letter to My Future Husband

Hello, how are you? Good I hope.

The first thing I wonder when I think about you is what do you look like? At this point in time I imagine you tall with brown hair, blue eyes – maybe brown. You have a good dress, nice enough that it shows that you take pride in your appearance but not too nice that you seem stuck up. Your appearance reflects who you are, I think that’ll be nice.

Next I wonder when and where I met you. I hope I meet you early in my adult life, I don’t relish the thought of going on long into my 20’s or 30’s without you. Did I meet you at uni, work or on a night out? Are you from Australia or another country? If so, how did I get there or how did you get here? Did we have to over come a lot of struggles to be together or was it as simple as melting butter on hot toast? I hope it was simple.

What do value, what do you do – for work and for fun? I think you’ll value some of the same things as me, things may get tense if you didn’t, though boring if we agreed on everything. I know you’ll be respectful of others and care about them as much as you do yourself. I think you’ll value intelligence over superficial things, that issues in the world matter to you. I hope reading will be something that brings you joy, I’ll still be reading when we’re married, so it’d be cute if we could do that together. I don’t know what you’ll do for work. I hope that it is something that you are good at and passionate about, I hope that it brings you joy. Seeing you happy will make me happy, I do like being happy.

I hope you love Christmas, it’s my favourite holiday so if you joined in with my unwavering spirit that’d be phenomenal.

I do hope that you do things because you want to do them, that you don’t do what others want or expect of you. You know your mind and don’t waver from it, you’ll be true to you.

I hope you know that you won’t be able to change me, that you accept me, that you love me because of who I am. I wouldn’t have married you if you didn’t love me for me, so I have confidence that you do.

Thank you, for being you and taking an interest in me as I will in you.

Stay safe, do your own thing and please don’t hide.

Love, your wife.

Well, this happened today.

So lately I’ve been really, super into trying new things. I’ve been reading new things, seeing new movies, meeting new people, trying new adult things. SO today I decided to get a… TATTOO, or two.

Here is what they look like…

I am very happy with them.

I don’t really think that you have to have a really deep rooted meaning to get a tattoo. Personally, if you like it and it reflects you and your personality, I think you should go for it.

I got the two arrows with a meaning. Each arrow symbolises my two families, the one I associate with my mother and the one I associate with my father. I chose arrows because they encourage me to go further in life even when there are draw backs. These didn’t really hurt that much. They felt like  little scratches. 1.5/5 maybe.

I got the rose because I just really like roses. Also because Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney princess movie. I like how she is independent and intelligent. Belle loves books, as do I. And she falls in love with someone because of their personality, not what they look like. I would like to think that I am those things, and if not, I would like to be.
This rose could also be a reminder to stop and smell the roses. To have fun and live in the moment.
I dunno. I just sorta love it. The rose hurt a bit more because it was on rather thin skin. It felt more like a burning scratch sorta thing. 3.5/5 possibly.

Loving the adult life. Taylor. Xx

Online Book Shopping

I detest shopping online because what you think you ordered may not be what you get. This is particularly the problem with online book shopping. In my experience 90% of the time the products I receive are exactly what I wanted. The other 10% of the time they aren’t. I ordered Throne of Glass online and got it in the mail today. I ordered hardcover and it came in the Turtleback Books edition which means that it was small, with bad pages and no dust jacket. I wouldn’t mind as much however, if the rest of the books came in the same edition or if the Bloomsbury edition was sold online but APPARENTLY they aren’t. I am so bloody frustrated. I like things to match I really do.

What am I going to do? #firstworldproblems.

(This was a short unplanned rant, due to the fact that I literally just received the book and I am literally bloody frustrated).

Books I Read in January | 2015

I read a grand total of NINE books this month (including one graphic novel).

Now this is the part where I tell you what they were and whether or not I liked them – conveyed through a rating out of 5 (Goodreads style).

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Of course I loved this book. It had been a while since I had read it last so it was great to re-watch it. So of course I gave it a 5/5

2. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Again a long time since I had read it last. It took me a total of three days to knock over this 800 page beast #bludgerslife (possible on intended). Again 5/5.

3. A Walk to Remember

Good, not great. The movie was better. book didn’t make me cry. I am a blubbering mess after watching the movie. 3/5.

4. The Diviners

This cover is delicious. The book too was delicious. It took a while for me to get into to begin with, but once I did it was great. I loved the historical fiction paired with the paranormal aspect, it was different and exciting. 4/5.

5. Sex Criminals

This was my first graphic novel and to be honest it was a bit of a let down. The story line was interesting, but the sex police (literally) were confusing and annoying. Probably will not continue with the rest of the series. 2.5/5

6. Forgive Me Leonard Peacock

This was so good. I read it in a day and really liked it. I can’t really put my thoughts into words… Just read it. 4/5.

7. Lola and the Boy Next Door

This book is like WOAH. I loved Anna and the French Kiss a smidgen more than Lola, but I still loved it none the less. I just love cutesy-cheesy-romances. They make me smooshy and happy, then a little depressed, but I really do not mind in the slightest. Fantastic. If you haven’t read Anna and the French Kiss what are you doing with your life?????? Hands down 5/5.

8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone

So damn good. This was my first real fantasy read outside of Harry Potter and the Vampire Academy Series, and let me tell you – it did not disappoint. I loved the world, the romance and the writing. Liana Taylor is an artist. She paints a picture with her gorgeous words and writing style. So damned good. 5/5.

And finally, 9. Days of Blood and Starlight

Sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I didn’t like this one as the first novel because of the lack of romance – I am a sucker for romance – but I did really enjoy it. It got so much better towards the end! So exciting. I’ll definitely be picking up the final book in the trilogy this month. 4.5/5.

So there you have it. What did you read and enjoy this month? Have you read any of these and loved/hated them? Let me know!! Also I am ALWAYS open for book recommendations. Here is a like to my Goodreads page if you are interested to know what I am reading.

Have a splendid day/night/rest of your week.

Taylor. Xx

I’m not too sure what I want to this post to be about but I want to write a post…today, well this evening.

I’ve been writing lately. It has been really enjoyable. It started when I was watching Stuck in Love and the entire are writers. I really enjoyed the movie, even if Logan Lerman’s face time wasn’t all that extensive, and once I finished watching it I went, sat at my desk and began writing. I think it was the writing aspect to the movie that motivated to begin again. Yet want to begin I think that the idea of writing again would already have to have been on my mind. Since I have finished school, turned eighteen and have started doing ‘adult’  things my aspirations and passions have become more apparent. I have, for a while, known that I have wanted to write, this is evident in my previous post I Think I’d Like to Write. I have deliberated what I wanted to write about for a while now. I sometimes think that I could write a lovey-dovey romance; then I think that I should write about realistic romances, the ones that don’t have completely happy endings. I then think, most of the books that I enjoy reading have great, lovely endings. If people wanted to read about something as realistic as their lives they’d just live their lives. I read because I want to read about something else, another time, another place… Would I read about something that resembles my life? I honestly don’t know. Those coming of age books are really good and teach me things, maybe I’d be good at writing one of those. I would try fantasy if I had an idea that I could develop, alas I don’t, so I’ll stick with my other less fantastical ideas.

I haven’t seen a lot of movies lately because I have been reading so much. I did however, watch a few over the weekend. I watched Stuck In Love which I thought was pretty good. I watched Let’s be Cops which was funny. I also watched What If? which starred Daniel Radcliffe. I thought it was fantastic. It was so odd to see him be someone other than Harry Potter but he is such a good actor that I didn’t care. I would recommend What If? to anyone that likes a good old romantic comedy.

I accepted my offer to study at University today. You’re looking at the newest (well, one of) Secondary Education students in Queensland. I am actually very excited to start Uni and begin this new, hopefully more exciting and mature stage of my life. Bring on adulthood and all the trials, tribulations and fantastic occurrences that it has in store for me (a beautiful romance wouldn’t go astray). I can’t wait to be independent and start a career and earn money and have weekends off; I have to wait four years but I can survive that long… I hope.

Another A-Z Book Survey

So in December of 2013 I wrote a post answering the questions in the A-Z Book Survey. I thought that it may be time to update my answers seeing as I have read quite a few more books since then (mostly in the last few months). You can find my original post here.

So here goes my updated A-z Book Survey.

Still J.K Rowling. I got a new set of the Harry Potter novels for Christmas and they are gorgeous and I am in the middle of re-reading them this month.

Barely Breathing by Rebecca Donovan was an absolutely fantastic sequel to Reason to Breathe. I loathed the ending only because it didn’t end the way I wanted to, but there is still the final book in the trilogy to read so I am excited.! I am also more quite excited to read Scarlet by Marissa Meyer because Cinder was so darn good. I’m sure it will be quite frankly, the bomb-digitty.

The Diviners by Libba Bray. It was a little slow to start because of the introduction of so many characters and establishing the setting, but once you get further into it the mystery is great and the 1920’s setting is fan-bloody-tastic. I am quite excited to read even more.

I only drink water lately because it is saaaaah refreshing.

If it is a classic that I can get for free, then e-book. Anything else then I would have to opt for a physical copy. They smell so good and holding it in my hands is pretty great.

Ronald Weasley for sure. He is such a great friend and wants to surpass the glory of his brothers which is something that I can actually relate to. Another would be Evan Matthews from the Breathing trilogy. HE is bloody gorgeous and so, so caring. Those would be my ‘good guy’ choices. For my ‘bad ass-guy’ choice, it would have to be Jace Wayland from the Mortal Instruments series (though I’ve only read the first), just so charming.

I bought Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief  a few years ago before I stopped reading for a while. Once I got back into it I was deliberating whether to read it or not. Luckily I don’t like to waste money, so I decided to read it and thank the Gods (get it) I did, because it was so fun.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. I love this book so much. It taught me so many lessons and I treasure it. I love how it was written. I am meaning to read it again soon. Also the Breathing trilogy because I haven’t seen many having read it. The character development is so bloody intense.

I’d have to say when I finished Harry Potter for the first time- and every time after that. It just brings back such nostalgia from my childhood. Also when I read The Great Gatsby. It was the first classic that I’ve read and it was just beautiful.

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. The movie made me cry whereas the book didn’t. I did enjoy the time in which it was set (1958) and the retelling aspect but it could have used more romance and ‘wooing’ and development, it may have been a little too short.

I’ve read a biography and didn’t like it, but that may have been due to theft that I had to read it for school.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K Rowling and A Game of Thrones by George R. Martin.

Haven’t really had one because I’ve just been so excited to read more. I also haven’t really finished any series lately.

Technically two. One with books I’ve read and ones with books I haven’t.

Obviously Harry Potter. I don’t usually read books twice.

On my bed.

“Always” -Severus Snape.
“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter—tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And then one fine morning—
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” – The Great Gatsby

Buying books that I end up hating. I don’t know it at the time, but I end up regretting it.

Breathing triology by Rebecca Donovan,
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Anna and the French Kiss companion series by Stephanie Perkins

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

John Green, Fangirl, Harry Potter, Anna and the French Kiss, the cover of The Diviners.

Cress by Marissa Meyer (so I can marathon the rest of the series),

Reading the last page, and not reading a book consistently, sometimes its weeks apart before I continue reading.

Forgive me Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick

Saga (volume 1)

I usually read during the day, so not really anything.

If you’d like to know more about my reading; what I have read and what I want to read check out my Goodreads page here.

Let Me Fill You In

I’m more than aware that I’ve not written a post in near three months. You cannot imagine the sudden urges I had to just sit down and type something and post it. I would have if it had not been insufferable to do so on my iPad. Yesterday however, was my 18th birthday, and I received money to go towards my ‘Laptop Fund’. Today I bought myself a Macbook Pro!! SO here I am, finally, writing again – it feels so bloody good.

I’ve been quite busy over the last few months. I’ve graduated high school, received my OP (which rates you from 1-25 (1 being the highest) on the subjects you studied in school (used for University entry), I’ve worked, got my drivers licence (FREEDOM.!!), been on holidays celebrated Christmas, read something like 18 novels and, as I said, just turned 18.

I went to the movies and the shops yesterday and bought a scratchy (no-one asked me for ID so that took the fun out of it) and won $2, so I only wasted $10. I had a pretty average birthday, though it taught me one thing; that your family and closest friends are the ones who care enough to wish you well. Even the people you thought were your friends for several years can’t take set aside one minute out of their day to say ‘Happy Birthday’. I don’t get it. I do however adore my closest friends and wouldn’t trade them for all the monies and Leonardo DiCaprio’s and Chris Hemsworths’ in the world. On the other hand, some days I would trade my sisters for them (;

I did mention that I’ve read something like 18 books in the lest few months and I am super-dooper really proud of that effort. I have only just gotten back into reading and it is the best thing that I’ve done since graduating. I’ve broadened my taste from just romance and started reading fantasy again and it is great. In the past two weeks I have managed to read the first five Harry Potter novels – due to lack of a social life – and it is like reading them again since it has been so long. It has been magical.

My love life is still non-existent. No surprise there, but I am sure whenever something happens in that department, that I will be glad for it. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, so now I am just trying to apply that to all parts of my life.

I hopefully start University soon. I am very excited. I cannot wait to start a new chapter in my life, and make great things happen for myself. This year I haven’t set any New Years Resolutions because the ones I set last year REALLY did not go down well. I am just going to live by my two ‘mottos’ I guess; Everything happens for a reason and Do what makes you happy.

Taylor. Xx

Four Weeks

Four weeks left. Four weeks until I graduate high school and step/stumble into the big bad world. I have two weeks of actual school left, then exam block then the final week where I do essentially nothing.

I am more than excited for my graduation and formal. I get to dress up gorgeously and get a ride in a really cool car.

Then I have no school. How do I not be a student.? I’ll have to develop a sense of style and get a full time job.

I want to teach at the moment. There is no other career that appeals to me. My dad agrees that it is a good choice because it is useful everywhere in the world.

I’m not going to uni next year because I want to save. There is also the very real chance that I may be travelling to the U.K..! I mean how exciting is that?! My brother and I have planned the trip for my family. My mother and sister want to compete in the Karate World Cup next year. So after that we want to stay in London. Go to Dublin, then Paris, then Barcelona. That would be amazing and it would cross like 4 things off my bucket list.

I go for my licence test on Thursday. I’m extremely nervous on the inside. But usually I’m quite good at controlling my nerves. So fingers crossed.

Overall though I am just extremely nervous because I don’t know how to be out in the world. I’ll learn though I am sure.

Have a fantastic day.
